inhale, exhale (oi-io) – Broadcast Schedule

inhale, exhale (oi-io) (2023/2026) broadcasts sound in synchronicity with the tidal extremes of five proposed sites for the Big Breather (1972) – an unrealised sound sculpture and tidal energy mechanism, created by the British conceptual artist John Latham (1921–2006).

Originally created for Latham’s studio and home, Flat Time House (FTHo), inhale, exhale (oi-io) has been significantly redeveloped for this new presentation, as part of the group exhibition ‘Tidal Flows’ at The Glucksman, Cork. The artwork can be heard both inside the gallery (during normal opening hours), and outside the gallery for the duration of the exhibition (27 November 2026 – 11 April 2027).
